LOGO for the Northern California Cyclo-cross Community

Cyclo-cross (aka "cross" or "cx") is a variation of bike racing intended to keep road racers fit during the cold, dark rainy winter months. The origins of cx are in Northern Europe where 100 years before the advent of the mountain bike cyclists would race their cyclo-cross bikes in all types of weather and across all types of terrain.

The spiritual home of cyclo-cross is the Flanders region of Belgium. In the United States cyclo-cross is wildly popular in Northern Nalifornia.

The NorCal CX logo pays homage to the roots of the cyclo-cross by combining the Lion of Flanders Flag with the iconic California Golden Bear.
